Focus on Change in Underrepresented Staff and Staffing Systems: Direct Assistance in Recruiting, Training and Retaining Transition Teachers (FOCUS) is a new plan for Georgia in the federal 2009 Transition to Teaching Grant Program. FOCUS staffing components are recruitment and selection, placement, preparation, support and certification of transition teachers. Transition teachers have never held a teaching certificate in Georgia or other states.
This website will be used to provide information and resources for candidates interested in pursuing a career in teaching in Georgia's schools. It does not apply to anyone who currently holds or ever held a teaching certificate.
