Traditional Routes - Obtaining a Georgia certificate by completing a state-approved educator preparation program, usually at a college or university before you are hired as a teacher.
Alternative Routes - Obtaining a Georgia certificate while you work as an educator.
Step 1. Meet the miminum requirements.Pass or exempt the GACE Basic Skills assessment.
Pass the GACE content assessment in the field you are hired to teach. Step 2. Get hired and pass a criminal background check.
Step 3. Enroll in and complete a state-approved non-traditional teacher preparation program.
